I don't know how but I managed to convince the missus to give me my Christmas pressie early, a Drennan IM9 Classic Float rod. I haven't had a go with it yet, but he feels fantastic. I've paired it up with a Daiwa 2500 match, it's really balanced nicely. Chris has made the observation that I now have more float rods than I've been float fishing this year..  He's correct, but I don't care! I was scanning YouTube for "trotting" videos because I really am not sure what I'm doing.. And I came across this:


It's fantastic. I won't ruin it for anyone, you need to watch it. 

My next trip is planned for the River Derwent on Monday. I will be brushing up on my trotting skills!
